Photovoltaics: Towards a sustainable industry

The coordinator of CIRCUSOL, Tom Rommens, will give a presentation on the 11th of March 2021!

We are entering the TeraWatt area and Solar has been announced recently as the “new king” of the energy sector by the IEA and IRENA. Needless to say more… It is time to move forward and develop a collective vision for the future of solar energy

Looking at the leading role of photovoltaics in the energy transition, we can all agree on the responsibility of photovoltaic to be exemplary from a sustainability point of view, right?

So, let’s start coordinating from the entropy of business strategy, policy development and scientific enthusiasm together with stakeholders from different horizons. This event is an opportunity to condense and focus all the great initiatives happening over the world and create synergy among sectors over the PV value chain. Let’s share our views and solutions to provide and incentivize some guidance to redesign PV energy as a global and sustainable industry.

Tracking on progress and promoting PV sustainability at a global level, the workshop aims to bring together all the communities involved, including manufacturers, recyclers, policymakers, and experts from organizations, like DG GROW / JRC - European CommissionIEA-PVPS, and research institutes to exchange views, trade information and knowledge.

Through eight sessions over two days and a half, the workshop will address the following topics:

  • PV sustainability and circular strategies
  • Industry best practices and quality & reliability
  • Economic and environmental analysis over the PV value chain,
  • Eco-design and waste management alternatives

Join the workshop and be part of the discussion!
