CIRCUSOL consortium has launched and completed an in-depth review of business cases for several circular business model concepts in the solar power industry.

This includes the original CIRCUSOL concepts: second-life PV and second-life battery, as well as new concepts such as DBFMO (Design-Build-Finance-Maintenance-Operations) models for small-scale systems. The (semi)quantitative analysis provided answers to key questions like: Are there potential environmental benefits compared to current standard practice in the market? Is there a positive financial business case? Is it feasible? What are the most suitable applications and markets? Is there replication potential? The conclusions of the business cases will be used to adjust and refine the business models being developed in CIRCUSOL. The studies are under further validation and are expected to be published later.
